Why now
The one-person company is real. Trusting automation is the hard part.
More founders now start and run a business alone, with AI doing work that used to need a team: research, bookkeeping, support, reporting. Generating output is no longer the bottleneck. The bottleneck is letting software act on real accounts, real money and real customers without watching every step.
Share of new startups with a solo founder
More than one in three new startups now begins with one founder.

29.8M
US businesses with no paid employees in 2022, with about $1.7 trillion in receipts.
77%
of business uses of the Claude API show automation patterns: work is handed off, not just discussed.
14.7%
of cash raised in priced rounds went to solo-led startups, though they were 30% of startups founded in 2024.
Solo founders mostly fund themselves, so every hour and every dollar counts.

Too many small tasks
A solo founder is also the accountant, the support desk and the analyst. Recurring work eats the hours meant for building.

Automation tools need wiring
Classic automation asks you to design every trigger and field by hand, and breaks when an email or a file looks slightly different.

Agents need a safety net
An AI agent that can send email or move money must know when to stop and ask. Most tools treat approval as an afterthought.
Product
From one sentence to a workflow you can trust
Every workflow follows the same five steps. The founder stays the final approver; the agents do the routine work.
Agents act on their own, within the permissions you granted.
Agents prepare the work; nothing leaves until you approve.
Only you can do it: decide a price, sign, record, meet a client.
DescribeWrite the task in plain language, the way you would brief an assistant.
PlanClaude breaks it into steps and shows which tools and data each step needs.
Run approved toolsOnly connectors you granted (email, Google Sheets, files) with least-privilege scopes.
CheckResults are validated against rules and structured schemas before anything is saved.
ApproveRisky actions wait in an approval queue on Telegram: approve, edit or reject in one tap.
Send an overdue reminder to Client A (invoice 12 days late).
Human approval by default
Sending to outside people, paying, deleting or publishing always needs your decision. You can relax rules per workflow, never silently.
Every run is logged
Each step records what the agent read, decided and changed, so a mistake can be traced and undone.
Cost cap per workflow
Each workflow has a spending limit. When it is reached, the run pauses and asks you, instead of running up a bill.
Several agents, one inbox
Workflows can be split between specialised agents (research, writing, review) that hand work to each other; you see one approval queue.
Long projects
Built for work that takes weeks, not minutes
A 30-day launch is not a five-minute automation. Thuyet Flow is designed to keep track of project milestones, task dependencies, decisions and approvals. Claude helps plan each stage, review progress and prepare the next actions, while the founder stays in control.
Milestones
The project is split into weeks with a clear goal for each.
Dependencies
A step starts only when the work it needs is finished and checked.
Decision log
Every choice you make is recorded, so agents build on it later instead of asking again.
Weekly review
Each week Claude compares progress with the plan and proposes what to change.
Your AI team
One founder. A team of AI agents.
A one-person company still has a finance desk, a researcher and an editor. In Thuyet Flow they are AI agents with narrow roles and limited tools, and they all report to one person.

Turns your instruction into an ordered plan and flags risky steps.

Reads inboxes, files and the web to collect what a task needs.

Extracts amounts, dates and clients into your sheets.

Drafts replies, reminders and reports in your voice.

Checks every result against rules before it reaches you.
Agents are software, not staff: each role is a set of instructions and permissions running on Claude. Roles shown are the planned defaults.
Built on Claude
What we're building on Claude
See example plans → Big projects for one person (a product launch, a new market, an online shop) and the weekly routines behind them.
Planning and reasoning
Claude turns an instruction into an ordered plan, and decides when a step is risky enough to need approval.
Tool use and structured output
Claude calls connectors through defined tools and returns JSON that is validated before it touches your data.
Cost control (planned)
Moving to the Claude API with prompt caching and batch processing for background runs, to keep cost per task predictable.

Founder
Hoang Cong Thuyet
Independent developer and solo founder · Hanoi, Vietnam
Software developer working on web products, with about ten years of earlier experience programming ABB and Nachi industrial robots in manufacturing, at companies such as Canon and Samsung. Years on factory lines taught one rule that shapes Thuyet Flow: automation is only useful when people can trust it, check it and stop it.
Thuyet Flow is an independent project, built and run by one person, which is exactly the kind of company it is designed for.
